Option A:
Neurological Conditions in the Pilates Environment: Customizing Movement Programs
Location: Club Pilates Steiner Ranch (MAP), 12 PM - 6 PM

Exploring how neurological conditions affect movement learning, safety, focus, and practice with practical tools for exercise sequencing, spring selection, sensory-informed cueing, prop use, and engaging clients through movement, music, and voice.
In this six-hour workshop learn how these neurological conditions affect movement learning, practice, safety and focus: Neuropathy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Alzheimers. Learn how to:
* Order exercises that satisfy Pilates principles and criteria for fascia-informed movement
* Select spring settings that respect conditioning requirements of tendon, ligament, cartilage, muscle and bone.
* Renew focus and attention by changing spatial orientation and rhythm with each new exercise.
* Choose props whose texture and shape provides sensory input that enhances motor control.
* Coordinate your verbal and touch cues to create reassurance, trust, proprioceptive acuity and accurate alignment.
* Engage your clients with movement, music ,and voice-over to stimulate dopamine, curiosity, community and optimism.

X's & O's - Anterior & Posterior Sling 12-2pm
In this two hour workshop, Amy invites you to a whole-body Magic Circle experience, with a special emphasis on midline muscles such as the obliques and adductors as well as the posterior chain partners, latissimus and glute max. Known for her innovative and thoughtful approach, Amy uses the power of imagery, specifically the visualization of X's and O's, to help deepen the understanding and sensation of the anterior and posterior oblique myofascial slings and their relationships to locomotor movement, rotational activities and pelvis stability. Using compare and contrast strategies, partner exercises and self assessment, you will walk away from this workshop feeling deep relationships to your right and left hemispheres and move forward with zest and vigor.
Fit For Life With Pilates For The Active Aging Population 3-6pm
In this 3 hours workshop, Amy will provide a thoughtful exploration of Pilates for the active and aging body, offering creative and client-centered strategies to address and support strength, flexibility, mobility and balance. By using common activities of daily living as the guide post, this workshop will include FUNctional and interactive skill building for the brain and vestibular system, complimenting the sense of confidence, independence and longevity.
